The Vigeland Park, covering an area of 80 acres or 3,20,000 sq. mt. in the city of Oslo, is the world’s largest Sculpture Park, made by a single artist, Gustav Vigeland.

This unique sculpture park was mainly completed between in the year 1939 to 1949. It features more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Most of the sculptures are placed in five units – the Main gate, the Bridge with the Children’s playground, the Fountain, the Monolith plateau and the Wheel of Life. Vigeland modelled all the sculptures of the park in full size using clay, after that carving in granite, casting in bronze for the sculptures were done.

The Vigeland Park is one of Norway’s most popular tourist attractions and open to visitors all year round.
