Overview
An extension of Chotonagpur Plateau, Purulia is a home of numerous central and south Indian peninsular birds with some rarities. Birds like Indian Cursor, Rufous-tailed Lark, Rock Eagle Owl, Black Francolin, Jungle Bush Quail, Great Grey Shrike, Bay-backed Shrike, Sirkeer Malkoha, White-naped Woodpecker, Yellow-crowned Woodpecker, Indian Chat, Dusky Crag Martin can be found in this region. October to March is the best time for visit this part.
