The history of India begins with the Indus Valley civilization and coming of Aryans. Most likely the Veda was composed between 1500BC and 1000 BC. After that India were united under King ASHOKA in the fifth century and 6th century is known for king of MAGADHAs had become paramount over the Ganges valley. This period also saw the emergence of Boudhism and Jainism. After Maurys India repeatedly raided and plundered by foreigners and the stability restored by the GUPTAS and witnessed an unprecedented flowering of Art, Literature and sciences.
