Chattisgarh means thirty six forts, it’s a new state of central India, separated from Madhya Pradesh on November 2000. The state is heavily covered with forests and some beautiful waterfalls. It is bounded by Up & Jharkhand in North and North-East, Odidha to the East, Telengana to the south and Madhya Pradesh to the west. Chattisgarh contains the source of one of the most important rivers of the south asian peninsula- the Mahanadi which flows through Odisha and emptying into Bay of Bengal. The forest of Chhattisgarh are home to a broad array of animals including tigers, hayenas and blackbucks. The woodland also inhabited by many species of birds. Chattisgarh has a population of diverse ethnic, social, religious and linguistic backgrounds. More than one third of the state residents belong to different tribes. The Gond people are most prominent. Chattisgari and hindi is a widely spoken language and both are the official language of the state. About half of the land of this state is farmland, while most of the remainder is either forest cover or unsuitable for cultivation. The culture here is of mixed tribal and Hindu culture. Chitrakote falls is one of the biggest water falls of river Indravoti and a tourism destination of the state. Beside this Dantewara temple is one of the popular temple and Kutumsor cave is one of the beautiful caves situated in Chattisgarh.
